The directors of John Robson Metals Limited recognise that our most important resource and asset is all of our staff. Their development, commitment and interest in the company and the pride and attitude to their work and use of other resources enable our company to carry out the most difficult of work safely and efficiently. This is the asset we are most proud of.
We ensure that their training is as comprehensive and up to date as possible. Our training programme has been ongoing for over 20 years and we have built up well trained and experienced teams. Training and development is constantly reassessed to ensure we have the capabilities and expertise to safely undertake whatever a job situation requires.
From the very first day a new member of staff joins our team training begins, starting off with hands on in house training and the 2 day ECITB Safety Passport course. Once the new member has shown good safety awareness and a willing to learn he/she will be put forward for further training.

From a member of a working party to Receipt of Safety Documents, John Robson Metals can provide a fully competent team on all substations. Examples of authorisations we currently hold are:-

The Levels of authorisations can very between power companies. However, we have staff with various authorisations. A list of which is available upon request.
At John Robson Metals, we believe that there needs to be an awareness of health & safety and environmental issues surrounding the jobs which can involve high risk and possible high impact to the surrounding environment. Therefore we insist that we have a number of engineers & management which are trained in the following areas:-
IOSH Managing Safely – Supervisors Course
IEMA Environmental Management
NEBOSH Construction Certificate – QHSE Manager
All Plant training given to our staff is NPORS/IPAF recognised, some examples include:-
Wheeled/ Tracked 360 Excavator
IPAF 1A&B, 3A&B
